Final Sound

Choosing the right music was essentially the make or break point for our main product. Initially, we were set on asking a composer to create the music, which would be completely parallel to onscreen images, but within the short time frame we had, we decided it would be difficult and we worried about relying on an alternate mind to capture exactly what we wanted.

We spent a very long time on YouTube searching for 'horror' or 'suspense' themed tracks, hoping we could use a collaboration of many uncopyrighted sounds. However, as our trailer changed pace towards the start and had very precise shot timings, merging tracks together was not an option as it would be near impossible to merge two tracks to fit with the different pace, but still work together.

Eventually, we came across this track http://www.youtube.com/watchv=TjBzWR4ihM4&feature=watch_response_rev.

We found it fitted superbly and even changed pace at the right points. We had to swap a few shots within our trailer to fit the sound in perfectly, but in the end it worked in our favour. We also had to fade the music out at the end and build up the 'bang' with more sounds, most found on GarageBand.
